One Year Olds to Get 6-in-1 Vaccination

The UK Government has announced new plans to provide a 6 in 1 injection for young children.

The plan is that after their first birthday children will be offered 3 seperate injections to immunise against:

  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Pneumonia
  • 2 types of menigitis

The reason for this change is to boost vaccination rates. Ever since the tabloid press caused a wave of panic over the MMR vaccination (all based on false evidence, the doctor behind it was struck off the medical register) rates of vaccinations have reduced. This has led to a rise in the spread of viruses, and many of these can be fatal or lead to permanent disability.

95% of the Population Has To Be Vaccinated

To effectively stop the spread of viruses 95% of the population must be vaccinated. At the moment the UK falls a long way short of this.
