Dermabrasion is a technique used on the treatment of acne scars, pockmarks, surgical scars or minor defects of the skin’s texture. An electrical machine is used to remove the outer layers of the skin, producing a more even shape to the surface of the skin. Although it is an effective way of improving the appearance of the scarred tissue it cannot remove the scar completely. When the irregularity of the skin is small one session of dermabrasion will be enough to improve the condition of the skin. In the case of deeper and more extensive acne scars several sessions may be needed to achieve a good result.
